Sending messages between two computer systems that run on Windows XP Operating Systems allows you to directly communicate through the Operating System without the need of a third party system. Microsoft Windows provides an effortless method for sending messages to other computers on the localnetwork. The Net Send command is used to send messages from PC to PC. It is supported only in Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 2003 Operating Systems. The user is able to send messages only to a name that is online on the local network. The Messenger service that is always present in the system by default must be running for Net Send to successfully send messages.

• If you wish to send a message to another computer in your network, click on "Start" then on "Run". Type "cmd", and press enter. In the window that opens type "Net send" and then the name of the computer to which you wish to send the message, and finally the message. For example "Net send PC01 can you read this message?"
